About

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Windy Johnson-Cumberbatch. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Lyme Disease and later Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the summer of 2014 after over a decade of severe illness and countless misdiagnosis.  I have Fibromyalgia, due to a car accident in 1998, I contracted Lyme Disease in 2003 after being bit 6 times my a LoneStar Deer Tick in my home in Austin, Texas. (Yes, you can get Lyme Disease in Texas)!

Update: In October of 2023, it was determine that I have an Autoimmune Disease.  Currently, working with a great Rheumatologist to get to a specific diagnosis.  As of today, based on my symptoms it appears to be Lupus -which I am on a protocol for.  However, until Lupus is confirmed the diagnosis is called UCTD or Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease.

I live in the Austin, Texas area.  I’m so thankful for my amazing husband Carl who is so patient as I navigate this journey.  We are the parents to 5 great kids whom we love very much!

I have chosen to share my story in an effort to help someone else who might be going through a similar experience.  I pray that you find my story inspirational and that you know you’re not alone.  We will get through this…with God’s help!

Please be patient with me, it takes me a while to write each blog post due to the various symptoms I am faced with each day.  Most days I’m home in bed swollen and in pain, but I will do my very best to bring you along my journey!

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future”.  Jeremiah 29:11

Love & Blessings,

Windy
