Windy’s Journey

A journey of faith and healing | You can do hard things!

This is one of the hardest questions I’ve ever wrestled with.

If you live with chronic illness, you’ve probably asked yourself a similar question. Maybe you’ve prayed for healing. Maybe you’ve believed with all your heart that this would be the year your breakthrough would come. Yet the symptoms remain. The pain continues. The doctor’s appointments keep filling your calendar.

It’s okay to admit that this question hurts.

As Christians, we know that God is able to heal. Throughout Scripture, we see Jesus healing the sick, restoring the broken, and doing what seemed impossible. I still believe He heals today. I still trust that nothing is too difficult for Him.

But I’ve also learned something that has brought unexpected peace.

My faith is not dependent on whether healing comes on this side of eternity.

If God’s plan is to heal me here, I will praise Him.

If His plan is for me to wait until I stand in His presence, I will praise Him there too.

That isn’t giving up. It’s surrender.

Our greatest hope as christians has never been that we would avoid suffering forever. Our greatest hope is that one day suffering itself will come to an end.

The promise of heaven reminds us that every tear will be wiped away, every disease will be gone, every weary body will be made new, and every child of God will experience perfect wholeness in His presence.

There are days when I long for relief. There are moments when I wonder, “Why me?” But even in those moments, I remember that this life is temporary. My illness does not have the final word. Jesus does.

Until that day, I want my life to point people to Him—not because my circumstances are easy, but because His grace is enough to sustain me through them.

Healing would be amazing.

But knowing Christ is even greater!

So if I never get well in this life, I still have hope.

Because one day, whether sooner or later, I will stand before God completely healed—not just physically, but fully restored in every way. There will be no more pain, no more fatigue, and no more tears.

That is a promise worth holding onto.

Scripture

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
— Revelation 21:4 (NIV)

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank You for being with me through every difficult day. When I struggle with disappointment, remind me that Your plans are higher than mine and Your love never fails. Help me to trust You whether healing comes today, tomorrow, or only when I enter Your presence. Give me the strength to keep walking by faith, the courage to keep hoping, and the grace to reflect Jesus in the middle of my trials.

Thank You for the promise that one day You will make all things new. Until then, help me live each day with my eyes fixed on eternity, knowing that my hope is found in Christ alone.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
