Finding purpose in life can be challenging, especially when faced with chronic illness and daily struggles. But purpose isn’t something we have to search for in far-off places — sometimes, it’s revealed through our most difficult seasons. In this post, I want to share how I discovered purpose amid my journey through chronic illness and how faith played a crucial role.
There were days when I questioned the value of my journey — when pain overshadowed every thought, and discouragement crept in. I would look at my limitations and wonder how God could possibly use someone who felt so broken. It felt like I was missing out on so much of life, and finding purpose seemed impossible.
One day, during a quiet moment of prayer, I felt God gently remind me that purpose isn’t about perfection or productivity. It’s about living each day with intention, trusting that He is working even when I can’t see it. This realization changed everything. Instead of seeing my illness as a barrier, I began to see it as a way to encourage others walking similar paths.
Since that day, I’ve been intentional about embracing purpose where I am — whether through sharing my story, encouraging others through social media, or simply being present in the lives of those I love. Purpose isn’t always a grand moment; it’s found in the little ways we love, serve, and persevere. Speaking of encouraging others through social media, my husband and I began an online ministry called “As It Is In Heaven”. In a world consumed by hate, greed and fear, we have a desire to share the love of Jesus and offer encouragement to God’s people. We seek to inspire others to grow in their relationship with Christ and experience the peace that comes from His love. In addition, we strive to reflect the beauty of life here on earth AS IT IS IN HEAVEN embracing God’s love, grace and joy in every moment. Join us as we encourage one another and spread the GOOD NEWS of God’s endless grace. Nothing glamorous, just Jesus! I pray you will check us out on Instagram= @asitisinheaven8
If you’re struggling to find purpose today, know that it’s not something you have to strive for. It’s often found when you lean into God’s grace and let Him use your story — just as you are. Your struggles don’t disqualify you from purpose; they shape it in ways that can touch lives you never imagined.
Purpose isn’t something to achieve; it’s something to embrace. As I continue to walk through my journey with chronic illness, I choose to live with intention and trust that God is using every moment. I hope my story encourages you to find purpose in your own journey, too.
That’s it for today…it feels really good to get back to writing again. I appreciate you for stopping by. Please be sure to subscribe, follow, comment and share this blog with others who are suffering from chronic illness as it is my goal to empower, encourage and inspire others who are also on a health journey.
I hope to post again soon.
Until next time,
XO, Windy
